  • •Design and evolve a scalable architecture for the agent layer, evaluating and implementing new technologies to improve system performance.
  • •Provide technical guidance, conduct code reviews, and model engineering best practices and quality standards.
  • •Gather stakeholder requirements and collaborate with product management to prioritize features.
  • •Facilitate cross-team collaboration, coordinate efforts, identify risks, and mitigate them.
  • •Own the technical decision process end-to-end, including writing design docs and driving consensus.

Key Requirements

  • •Proven experience as a technical lead or principal engineer on an agent, daemon, or systems-level software project managing distributed deployments, versioning, and backward compatibility.
  • •Deep knowledge of observability data collection (metrics, logs, traces) and related protocols such as OTLP, Prometheus Remote Write, and syslog.
  • •Solid background in Go (Elastic Agent and Beats are primarily Go).
  • •Experience designing management and control planes for distributed software, especially protocol-driven approaches like OpAMP.
  • •Ability to lead large, multi-team technical initiatives from ambiguous design space to shipped software.
