Key Responsibilities

  • •Build, lead, and scale the Locomotion and Manipulation team, hiring and mentoring mechanical engineers and deploying them across product pods in a matrix.
  • •Drive execution of locomotion and manipulation hardware, including rigorous design reviews for structural chassis components, rotational joints, and end-effectors.
  • •Establish and enforce Siemens NX CAD standards and best practices for large assembly management, top-down master modeling, and PLM integration.
  • •Coach the team to optimize SWaP-C by lightweighting limbs and internal packaging while maintaining structural stiffness and handling complex wiring.
  • •Ensure DFM from Phase 0 for manufacturability using advanced casting, machining, and injection molding, and adjudicate cross-disciplinary conflicts around interfaces, space claims, mounting, and wire routing.

Key Requirements

  • •8+ years of mechanical engineering experience in robotics, aerospace, automotive, or advanced electromechanical systems, with 3+ years of direct engineering management experience.
  • •Proven experience operating in a matrixed organization, partnering with project managers and technical architects to deploy resources and drive execution.
  • •Deep hands-on background in complex mechanism design, structural bearing life calculations, kinematics, and integrating high-torque actuators.
  • •Expert-level experience with Siemens NX, including structuring large assemblies and implementing top-down modeling workflows.
  • •BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering.
