Key Responsibilities

  • •Deliver the required KS3/KS4 Science curriculum with accurate, up-to-date subject knowledge.
  • •Plan, prepare, and teach lessons tailored to students’ individual abilities; assign work and mark/assess according to school policy.
  • •Assess, record, and report student progress and use data to adapt classroom practice to help all learners succeed.
  • •Promote student well-being, maintain good order and discipline, and ensure safeguarding of students’ health and safety.
  • •Collaborate with school staff and parents/guardians, participate in CPD and peer review/observations, and contribute to curriculum planning and development.

Key Requirements

  • •Education/teaching degree or a Bachelor’s degree plus a teaching qualification/license in the subject.
  • •Two years’ teaching experience in the relevant subject area and/or age group.
  • •Solid subject knowledge and a strong commitment to teaching and learning.
  • •Knowledge of using ICT in schools to support teaching and learning.
  • •Excellent communication skills to build relationships with students and colleagues.
