Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide legal advice and strategic support for Centene’s Medicare Advantage, Part D, and Duals products, serving as lead counsel for Wellcare.
  • •Advise business and compliance partners on healthcare laws, regulations, and guidance affecting Medicare.
  • •Research, analyze, and interpret complex Medicare regulatory requirements, including risk adjustment, MLR, quality, Stars, and agent/broker matters.
  • •Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, policies, and procedures; support implementation of new laws, regulations, and operational workflows.
  • •Manage provider disputes and outside counsel to deliver efficient, high-quality legal services.

Key Requirements

  • •Juris Doctor (JD) required.
  • •7+ years of experience in health law required.
  • •Bar admission and currently in good standing required.
  • •2+ years of experience handling risk adjustment matters, including audits and complex vendor relationships (preferred).
  • •2+ years of experience in Medicare Stars and/or advising on Medicare bids and benefit structures (preferred).
