Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Survey Technician to perform property and topographic surveys, construction stakeout, and related field surveying tasks in Columbia, SC. You’ll operate survey instruments (Total Station, level, GPS/GNSS), read notes and plans, QA/QC data, and collaborate with project teams while traveling up to 50% for private, government, and commercial projects within land surveying scope.

Key Responsibilities

•Operate and care of survey instruments including Total Station, level, and GPS.
•Perform property surveys, topographic surveys, construction stakeout and other survey projects for private, government and commercial clients.
•Read and understand survey notes, sketches, maps, deeds, as-builts, construction plans and drawings and records.
•Use GPS/GNSS, conventional, and laser scanning to perform field survey procedures with accuracy.
•Take survey field notes, sketches and records daily and participate in project meetings to communicate with team and clients.

Travel: High travel

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 19 - 22 hourly

Key Requirements

•High School Diploma or equivalent with 2 years of land surveying experience or equivalent
•Valid US Driver's License with ability to pass Motor Vehicle Records Review
•DOT preconstruction survey knowledge or experience is a plus
•Experience with Federal and government clients is a plus
•Ability to travel up to 50% with occasional overnight travel
