Key Responsibilities

  • •Comply with health, safety, and environmental requirements, including participating in safety audits and addressing findings.
  • •Prepare accurate mechanical, civil, and structural drawings according to approved standards and specifications.
  • •Update and revise drawings based on operational and project needs, incorporating approved amendments.
  • •Maintain drawing compliance and quality, including ensuring drawings are captured, stored, maintained, and retrieved using drawing management systems.
  • •Provide drafting support by interpreting sketches/specifications, liaising with engineers and supervisors, and ensuring customer drawing requests are delivered within timeframes.

Key Requirements

  • •3–5 years of relevant drafting experience in a mining, industrial, civil, structural, or engineering environment.
  • •Understanding of engineering drawing principles, standards, and drafting conventions, including mechanical, civil, and structural drawing elements.
  • •Knowledge of CAD systems and drafting software used within the organisation and familiarity with drawing control processes (numbering, revisions, document management).
  • •Higher Certificate (NQF 5) in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering Studies, Drafting, or a related technical discipline.
  • •CAD/MicroStation certification with Autodesk Certified User (ACU) – Inventor, plus a SA Drivers Licence.
