Key Responsibilities

  • •Independently apply advanced geological interpretation techniques and solve geological and fundamental engineering problems under broad direction.
  • •Supervise subordinates and ensure success across all phases of assigned well site monitoring jobs by setting crew performance standards.
  • •Gather, analyze, and document logging information (e.g., depth, gas units/composition, rate of penetration, lag time, pressure detection) and determine oil/gas show occurrence and composition.
  • •Provide lithological descriptions of formations drilled and assemble mud logs and drilling database entries following SDL and/or customer guidelines.
  • •Ensure safe rig-up/tear-down, maintain smooth crew and shift transitions, and communicate mud logging information to customers (e.g., morning reports, show notifications, engineering problems).

Key Requirements

  • •4+ years relevant field experience with average 5-7 years, and completion of on-the-job development to reach full competence in the role’s competency system.
  • •Completion of an undergraduate degree in Geology with demonstrated technical aptitude to required standards.
  • •Ability to demonstrate good communication, arithmetic, and data entry/recording skills.
  • •Ability to perform quality work under moderate to critical conditions with no direct supervision.
  • •Ability to complete training appointments to obtain safety/offshore/operations or customer-specific certificates for designated rig sites.
