Job Summary

Join the AIMS AI Foundations team to do hands-on applied research that powers next-generation member experiences. You’ll design and run ML experiments, build prototypes, and contribute to projects spanning agentic AI, LLM evaluation frameworks, multimodal modeling, and training data curation. Work across applied research and product impact, translating novel ideas into measurable improvements for Netflix members worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

•Design, run, and interpret ML experiments in an applied research setting.
•Build prototypes and contribute to ongoing team projects.
•Work on projects in one or more domains such as agentic AI, LLM evaluations, multimodal data, and LLM training data curation.
•Develop evaluation frameworks, benchmarks, and quality metrics to assess LLM behavior, reliability, and alignment.
•Translate research ideas into practical prototypes and measurable improvements for Netflix members.

Key Requirements

•Currently enrolled PhD student in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Cognitive Science, or a related field.
•Able to work 40 hours per week during the fall/winter.
•Proficiency in Python and a strong foundation in machine learning, deep learning, and algorithms/statistics.
•Experience with one or more major ML frameworks: PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX.
•Ability to design, run, and interpret ML experiments and translate research ideas into practical prototypes and evaluations.
