Job Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Manager, Legal Operations to scale and optimize the legal team’s operations. You will own the department budget, manage outside counsel and vendor relationships, administer e-billing and matter management, oversee accruals and reporting, and lead adoption of AI and automation to improve efficiency and scalability across legal workflows.

Key Responsibilities

•Own the legal department budget: planning, tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis in partnership with Finance.
•Oversee outside counsel management program, including managing firm relationships, enforcing outside counsel guidelines, rate negotiations, and matter budgets.
•Serve as primary administrator for e-billing platform and matter management system; ensure data integrity and train legal team on tools.
•Own the monthly accruals process in partnership with Finance, tracking unbilled outside counsel spend, gathering estimates from law firms, and ensuring accurate reporting at close.
•Lead vendor selection and RFP processes for legal technology and outside counsel panels.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 110,000 - 140,000 annually

Key Requirements

•5+ years of experience in legal operations, legal project management, or a related function.
•2+ years working with an in-house legal team with outside counsel management, e-billing, and financial management (global experience a plus).
•Hands-on experience with e-billing technology (Brightflag preferred) and familiarity with matter management tools.
•Strong technical acumen and comfort with legal tech and process implementation, administration, and adoption.
•Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects from initiation through execution, with strong change management skills.
