Job Summary

Assist the Chief Engineer and 2nd Engineer in the safe operation, maintenance, and repair of all engine-room and dredging support machinery onboard a dredger. Operate and maintain main engines, generators, pumps, compressors, and auxiliaries; perform preventive and corrective maintenance via the Planned Maintenance System; troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems. Maintain dredging equipment, monitor performance systems, keep engine-room records, follow HSE procedures, and support compliance with maritime regulations.

Key Responsibilities

•Assist the Chief Engineer and 2nd Engineer in safe operation, maintenance, and repair of engine-room and dredging support machinery onboard the dredger
•Operate and maintain main engines, generators, pumps, compressors, and auxiliary machinery
•Perform preventive and corrective maintenance according to the Planned Maintenance System (PMS)
•Maintain dredging support equipment (dredge pumps, winches, pipelines, hydraulic systems) and monitor performance, fuel, lubrication, and cooling systems
•Maintain engine-room logs, maintenance records, spare parts inventory, follow HSE procedures (including PTW and LOTO), and respond to breakdowns/emergencies

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's degree in marine/mechanical engineering
•Certificate of Competency (COC) as 3rd Engineer
•Experience onboard dredgers, offshore vessels, or marine vessels preferred
•Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems
•Follow HSE procedures and comply with maritime regulations during maintenance and operations
