Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide non-medical, short-term solution-focused counseling to adults, children, and youth of service members, including assessment, brief counseling, consultation, action planning, referral linkages, and follow-up.
  • •Support CYB counseling by focusing on staff/personnel in CDCs, DoDEA and community schools, youth programs, and summer camps, including parent training and guidance.
  • •Deliver training and health/wellness presentations and participate in health fairs and base/installation activities.
  • •Enter counselor activity data daily via smartphone or web application while maintaining confidentiality and anonymity of service/family members.
  • •Partner with installation and military branch Points of Contact (POC) to ensure services meet installation needs and manage duty to warn/restricted reporting per DoD protocol; respond to critical incidents and special requests as directed.

Key Requirements

  • •Master’s degree in a mental health related field or social work from an accredited graduate program.
  • •Current independent-level licensure in any state as a mental health counselor, therapist, or social worker.
  • •Must be able to accept short-notice assignments, including weekends, with varying durations (from a weekend to two weeks).
  • •Ability to prove US citizenship and must be fluent in English.
  • •Advanced knowledge of brief therapy and solution-focused counseling methods; for CYB roles, experience with children and youth with specialty in child and adolescent development/psychology.
