Key Responsibilities

  • •Design and implement mathematical optimization models as part of strategic consulting engagements
  • •Own a defined workstream with clear result accountability, including coordinating with project teams and data scientists
  • •Support project acquisition by conceptualizing and embedding the optimization approach in the overarching strategic question
  • •Select suitable solution procedures and translate client data into prepared, aligned inputs for model execution
  • •Drive operational implementation of analytical insights on the company’s data platform and integrate them into decision-making

Key Requirements

  • •Completed Master’s degree or PhD with a strong quantitative focus (e.g., mathematics, operations research, computer science, engineering)
  • •At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in mathematical optimization, ideally in consulting or data-driven industry projects
  • •Hands-on experience developing and applying complex optimization models (linear, integer, nonlinear, or heuristic)
  • •Strong analytical thinking and the ability to quickly structure complex problems and translate them into robust, computable models
  • •Experience collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and direct client contact; very good German and English communication
