Job Summary

Support the design, development, and operationalisation of a climate-informed health early warning and response system in Vanuatu. Lead country implementation of project outcome 2 activities, including reviewing health surveillance and meteorological data systems, supporting CI-EWARS customization and ICT setup, organizing workshops and trainings (including Bislama materials), and producing EWARS bulletins and sustainability recommendations in close coordination with WHO and national partners.

Key Responsibilities

•Support the design and development of climate-informed health early warning and response systems (CI-EWARS).
•Collect and compile information on Vanuatu’s existing health surveillance and/or meteorological data systems, and map HIS and reporting/response channels.
•Support customization/adaptation of CI-EWARS architecture and infrastructure to Vanuatu’s needs, including procurement and installation of ICT equipment.
•Organize workshops, trainings, stakeholder consultations, and develop/ adapt training materials into Bislama if required.
•Provide technical support for operationalisation and sustainability, including liaison, EWARS bulletins, and input to the final completion report with recommendations.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: VT 1,620,111 - 1,917,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in public health, environmental science, meteorology, or a related field.
•At least 2 years of experience in public health information systems or climate information systems.
•Experience working with government ministries, health facilities, or meteorological agencies.
•Demonstrated experience in disease surveillance and/or epidemiology.
•Fluency in English and Bislama.
