Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide crisis intervention and comprehensive support for victims, including emotional support, transportation arrangements, and accompaniment to medical/legal/law enforcement appointments when requested.
  • •Conduct initial screening, non-clinical risk and lethality assessments, and safety planning for victims of domestic abuse.
  • •Advocate for victims’ expressed needs with intervening agencies and help navigate systems to obtain services for continued care.
  • •Coordinate with the installation Family Advocacy Program Manager and multidisciplinary team members; support coordinated community response and required training.
  • •Maintain ongoing case management, ensure timely data entry, manage warm handoffs to community resources when needed, and support victim rights/compensation processes.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in counseling/social work/psychology/marriage and family/child counseling or a related behavioral science, education, community health, or public health field.
  • •Two years of experience working with victims of domestic abuse/sexual assault or providing victim advocacy services.
  • •Working knowledge of family violence dynamics, safety planning, risk assessments, local community resources, and federal/state laws related to domestic abuse or sexual assault, family law, and the Victim Rights Bill.
  • •Ability to intervene in crisis situations using sound judgment, ethical practice, and common sense; develop, implement, and evaluate safety and intervention plans.
  • •Must have and maintain a valid, unrestricted motor vehicle license and be able to provide on-call victim advocacy services 24/7.
