Job Summary

Build backend-first features for a multi-tenant travel commerce platform that powers hotel and travel booking experiences for major partners. Lead improvements that help both humans and AI agents ship safely and quickly, architect scalable patterns for new partner experiences, and own initiatives end-to-end from systems to partner-facing surfaces. Work asynchronously with senior engineers, PMs, and business partners while directing AI agents, designing guardrails, and navigating LLM tradeoffs with strong product thinking.

Key Responsibilities

•Identify and execute improvements to the codebase that help humans and AI agents move fast and ship safely.
•Work with senior engineers in a trust-and-autonomy environment, driving decisions asynchronously with documentation and specs.
•Own features end-to-end, primarily on backend systems, extending to partner-facing surfaces as needed.
•Architect scalable solutions and foundational patterns to efficiently launch new partner experiences.
•Partner with PMs and business partners to define and refine the roadmap, bringing technical vision into planning.

Key Requirements

•Experience with distributed system development in Scala, or strong willingness to master it.
•Ability to direct AI agents and automated workflows to build and maintain complex systems, with good judgment on when to intervene.
•Experience designing guardrails and feedback loops for reliable, productive AI-assisted development.
•Strong product thinking focused on customer experience and quality/architecture tradeoffs.
•Ability to dive into an unknown codebase and deliver results fast.
