Key Responsibilities

  • •Own Japan consumer products licensing strategy across CP categories while collaborating with cross-regional CP teams on global partnerships.
  • •Develop title and category strategy with Content and partner on go-to-market plans across consumer, trade, and retail marketing.
  • •Lead Japan-related CP efforts and communications across Netflix and proactively drive ex-Japan business opportunities for Japan content with stakeholders.
  • •Champion the licensing opportunity and vision internally/externally, pushing innovation in partner selection, product development, line planning, business models, and strategic partnerships.
  • •Develop and implement cross-channel/category activation strategy in Japan, including e-commerce, and manage agency relationships.

Key Requirements

  • •12+ years of experience owning end-to-end licensing and/or retail functions for a reputable brand (entertainment studio, retailer, gaming, or agency).
  • •Demonstrated ability to create and drive end-to-end strategy to build new businesses from scratch.
  • •Ability to work with and innovate in new sales channels and business models.
  • •Strong knowledge of the licensing landscape with a network in Japan licensing and retail.
  • •Fluent in verbal and written communication in both English and Japanese to cultivate internal and external relationships.
