Job Summary

Join Dyson’s New Product Innovation team as a Graduate Design Engineer and help turn unmet consumer needs into breakthrough product concepts. You’ll work in a structured two-year rotational programme with four 6-month placements across different NPI teams, using consumer insight, rapid prototyping, experimentation, and fast iteration. Present ideas and evidence to senior stakeholders and build the technical, creative, and commercial judgement for a long-term NPI career.

Key Responsibilities

•Generate and develop bold product concepts, features, and technology ideas for Dyson categories.
•Use consumer insight, market signals, and technology opportunities to identify problems worth solving.
•Collaborate with experienced engineers, designers, and technical specialists to create novel solutions to difficult problems.
•Build functional, physical, and digital prototypes and test, iterate, and learn quickly through experimentation.
•Rotate across four NPI teams over a 24-month programme and present concepts, evidence, and learnings to senior stakeholders.

Key Requirements

•Have, or be on track to achieve, a degree in Engineering, Product Design, Innovation, Design Engineering, Science, or a related discipline.
•Be naturally curious about technology, consumers, behaviour, and what products could become next.
•Enjoy generating ideas, challenging assumptions, and exploring multiple routes through complex problems.
•Combine creativity with strong analytical thinking, engineering judgement, and a bias for making ideas real.
•Be comfortable prototyping, experimenting, failing fast, and learning through iteration.
