Key Responsibilities

  • •Define and execute the technical vision for the GCP data engineering practice, including standards for data modeling, ingestion pipelines, and lakehouse architecture.
  • •Oversee end-to-end design and deployment of enterprise data platforms using core Google Cloud services.
  • •Partner with Data Science/AI to build production-grade pipelines for vector search infrastructure and RAG frameworks powered by Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform and Vertex AI/BigQuery ML.
  • •Lead implementation of GCP-native data governance, security, and compliance including data lineage, row/column access control, and metadata management via Knowledge Catalog and IAM.
  • •Manage, mentor, and scale an agile team of GCP Data Engineers while driving CI/CD, IaC (Terraform), continuous data testing, and automated monitoring.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: CAD 210,000 - 240,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • •10+ years in data engineering and enterprise architecture, with 5+ years of people management experience leading agile engineering teams.
  • •4+ years hands-on experience designing and building production data solutions natively on Google Cloud (e.g., BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Dataproc, Cloud Storage).
  • •Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python, including production data pipelines for LLMs, vector search indexing, and GenAI workflows.
  • •Strong understanding of Terraform and enterprise data security practices (IAM, KMS, Knowledge Catalog governance).
