Job Summary

Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Army tactical and combat vehicles, material handling equipment (MHE), and other heavy equipment. Perform preventive/corrective maintenance per Army technical manuals and standards, diagnose mechanical/electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic faults, and complete PMCS and work orders. Serve as a LEAD with added administrative accountability, timekeeping, reports, and safety culture enforcement while ensuring OSHA, safety, and HAZMAT compliance.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform technical inspections on heavy equipment, tactical tracked vehicles, and MHE.
•Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system faults and conduct preventive/corrective maintenance per Army TMs, DA PAM 750-8, and AR 750-1.
•Repair and service equipment including engines, transmissions, drivetrains, brakes, steering, suspension, and hydraulic systems; perform PMCS, lubrication, and part replacement.
•Operate and inspect machines/equipment to diagnose defects; dismantle and reassemble using hoists and hand tools, and examine parts for wear using micrometers and gauges.
•Ensure OSHA/safety and environmental/HAZMAT compliance and complete required administrative/LEAD duties (personnel accountability, timekeeping, reports, safety culture, and enforcing contract requirements).

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or equivalent required.
•3–5 years of experience as a mechanic on military or heavy equipment.
•Knowledge of U.S. Army maintenance standards and technical manuals.
•Ability to perform preventive maintenance checks and services (PMCS).
•Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, and read Army TMs, schematics, and technical drawings.
