Job Summary

Lead the Radioactive Waste Management (RWM) Facility Program, directing program management, technical and operational support for the development and licensing of nuclear waste management facilities. Coordinate with regulatory bodies (FANR, EAD), stakeholders and contractors to plan, execute and ensure compliance with environmental assessments, safety cases, and licensing requirements.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead the RWM Facility Program and provide program management, technical and operational support for development of radioactive waste management facilities in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
•Engage key stakeholders such as FANR and EAD to ensure compliance with Environmental Impact and Environmental Safety Assessments for radioactive waste management facilities.
•Coordinate interface activities between ENEC-RWM and development contractors/partners to ensure effective collaboration and timely execution of program milestones.
•Develop and implement plans and procedures to ensure efficient execution of site activities and alignment with licensing requirements.
•Provide input to ensure comprehensive facility design, safety assessments, and licensing processes by coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other relevant Science subject. Master’s degree or PhD preferred.
•6 years of relevant experience in radioactive waste management facility programs; 2 years preferred in environmental management/assessment.
•Experience engaging with regulatory bodies such as FANR and Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi (EAD) and coordinating license applications.
•Ability to develop plans and procedures for efficient execution of site activities and ensure compliance with national legislation and license conditions.
•Strong stakeholder engagement and governance capability with internal/external partners and contractors.
