Job Summary

Design, build, and operate critical data platform capabilities that power Unity’s Ads business and internal Unity Commons services. Work at the intersection of distributed systems, data engineering, and platform infrastructure to deliver high-throughput, reliable, trusted data flows. Partner with engineers, product managers, data scientists, and data consumers to ship resilient, extensible platforms with automation, observability, and strong operational excellence—used by many teams at scale.

•Design, build, and operate scalable platform services, backend systems, and self-service tooling used across Unity.
•Work across distributed systems, data platform, cloud infrastructure, observability, reliability, and automation.
•Collaborate with teammates and partner teams to deliver reliable, reusable solutions.
•Build systems that are reliable, maintainable, secure, cost-efficient, and easy for internal teams to adopt.
•Own meaningful components end to end and deliver platforms that are resilient and easy to adopt.

Key Requirements

•Solid experience designing, building, and operating distributed systems, backend services, or data platforms in production.
•Strong backend and systems engineering skills, including service design, API design, debugging, and production operations.
•Understanding of distributed systems fundamentals like scalability, reliability, fault tolerance, and operational trade-offs.
•Familiarity with cloud-native infrastructure, container orchestration, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and observability.
•Experience with data-intensive platforms such as pipelines, streaming systems, storage layers, or analytics infrastructure.
