Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and advance software development schemes for new builds and product line improvements aligned to electrification, digitalization, and automation.
  • •Manage end-to-end development of drill rig control systems, ensuring compliance with functional safety standards such as ISO 13849 and SIL.
  • •Design, optimize, and integrate embedded communication systems (CAN-Open, J1939, Ethernet, Profibus, IoT gateways) with Epiroc telematics platforms.
  • •Conduct simulation, lab, and field validation to analyze and resolve complex software, electrical, and hydraulic system interactions; troubleshoot and close field service issues.
  • •Support product localization and modular software architecture adaptation, and deliver technical training sessions while visiting mining operations to gather customer insights.

Key Requirements

  • •Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Automation, Control Engineering, Vehicle Electronics, or a related field.
  • •Minimum of 3 years of embedded software development experience in construction machinery, mining equipment, or commercial vehicles.
  • •Strong proficiency in IEC-61131 PLC programming and C/C++ development for embedded environments, including experience with Codesys, Bodas-design, Opencs, or similar tools.
  • •Practical knowledge of functional safety standards (ISO 13849, SIL) for mobile machinery control systems.
  • •Experience with on-board communication protocols (CAN-Open, J1939, Ethernet, Profibus) and remote communications/telematics including OTA firmware upgrades.
