Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate a tractor with semi-trailer or full trailer combination, including coupling/uncoupling and connecting air brakes and electrical lines.
  • •Drive locally and over the road on assigned trips or schedules, selecting safe and legally allowed routes and using alternatives in emergencies.
  • •Inspect equipment, material, and/or assets; process receipts and receiving functions through the Logistics Management Program (LMP); complete trip tickets and preventive maintenance records.
  • •Ensure cargo is properly distributed, secured, and protected from weather; perform operator maintenance such as checking fluid levels and tire air pressure, and cleaning/washing vehicles.
  • •Comply with safety rules and regulations (including DoD/OSHA), report missing equipment and accidents/injuries, and maintain required personal safety equipment.
Travel: Medium travel

Key Requirements

  • •US Citizen able to obtain and maintain a government Public Trust, including criminal and financial background checks at local and federal levels.
  • •Pass a drug test prior to being hired and complete pre-employment and annual employment physicals.
  • •Valid CDL-A license and at least 3 years of experience as a CDL A heavy truck driver.
  • •Be able to obtain a TYAD (Tobyhanna Army Depot) operating permit to access and work on base.
  • •Be familiar with transporting HAZMAT and be able to lift and move items up to 45 pounds.
