Job Summary

Operate and monitor gas and steam turbines, HRSGs, potline rectifiers, and related utility services in a designated area to ensure safe, smooth, continuous power generation. Execute shift instructions from the Shift Supervisor or Main Control Room Operator, record and report routine parameters, manage standby equipment readiness, and assist with testing and re-commissioning after maintenance outages. Follow emergency procedures, safe working practices, and housekeeping standards while supporting on-the-job training to build competency.

Key Responsibilities

•Ensure plant and equipment under your control are operated safely and efficiently.
•Carry out instructions promptly; record routine parameter readings and report deviations.
•Inform the Supervisor or control room of any equipment abnormalities or problems.
•Ensure standby equipment is available for service during emergencies and follow emergency procedures.
•Assist with routine testing/re-commissioning after maintenance outages and participate in hazard reporting while maintaining housekeeping.

Key Requirements

•Higher Secondary School Certificate.
•4 years in a power station.
•2 years’ work experience as a Desalination Operator (PG7) or equivalent experience in a similar industry.
•English language skills (Intermediate 3 or equivalent) to prepare and complete shift reports.
•Ability to understand single line diagrams and apply IT, numeracy, problem-solving, and planning/organising skills.
