Job Summary

Lead the patient-focused data science organization for Headway’s consumer healthcare platform, driving measurable growth and patient impact. Partner with Product, Engineering, Operations, Growth Marketing, Finance, and Clinical to define success metrics, improve acquisition and conversion, and build segmentation and cohort insights. Own experimentation and causal measurement to turn learning into action, and scale a team of data scientists and managers while setting standards for truth and clear stakeholder reporting.

Key Responsibilities

•Partner with product, engineering, and operations to understand the patient journey and identify high-leverage opportunities to improve discovery, conversion, and outcomes.
•Own analytics strategy for consumer acquisition and performance marketing, including channel effectiveness, creative performance, conversion quality, CAC efficiency, and incrementality.
•Establish a high-velocity learning system through experimentation, decision-oriented readouts, and repeatable “insight to action” mechanisms.
•Build segmentation and cohort understanding to explain who the business serves best, where drop-offs occur, and what drives long-term value.
•Lead, coach, and scale a team of data scientists and data science managers while defining metric standards, trustworthy reporting, and clear definitions across the patient funnel.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 249,600 - 312,000 annually

Key Requirements

•10+ years of experience in data science/analytics, growth analytics, marketing analytics, product analytics, or data-driven strategy.
•6+ years leading and scaling teams, including building strong managers and high-performing org structures.
•Proven track record improving consumer growth outcomes across acquisition efficiency, conversion, retention, and product-led expansion.
•Deep expertise in experimentation design, statistical inference, and causal methods such as CUPED, diff-in-diff, synthetic controls, or propensity modeling.
•Ability to translate complex consumer journeys into clear metrics, crisp narratives, and decision-ready insights while navigating ambiguity.
