Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead HSE capability and workforce readiness initiatives, including implementation of the SimFer HSE Coaching Program and improvement plans based on capability gaps.
  • •Develop and continuously improve HSE procedures, standards, and tools, aligned to Rio Tinto requirements and operational needs.
  • •Support critical risk management and operational readiness activities, including incident investigations, risk assessments, audits, and contractor evaluation and assurance reviews.
  • •Drive management of change and implementation of lessons learned, ensuring HSE systems and processes are simplified and effective.
  • •Lead and develop direct reports and specialist resources and provide technical leadership and advice across Operations, Contractors, HR, Training, and HSE teams.

Key Requirements

  • •10+ years’ experience in mining, construction, heavy industry, or major projects.
  • •Relevant qualifications in HSE, Engineering, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
  • •Strong knowledge of HSE coaching, capability development, incident investigation, and organizational learning programs.
  • •Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage consultants and contractors.
  • •Fluency in English is required; French is highly desirable.
