Key Responsibilities

  • •Define and lead certification strategy across multiple complex programs aligned to FAA, ODA, STC, and airframe manufacturer requirements.
  • •Act as the primary certification point of contact for STC projects with FAA representatives, ODA Unit Members, airframe manufacturers, external partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • •Lead and manage STC project execution, including certification planning, compliance documentation, drawings of compliance, and delivery of certification milestones.
  • •Provide technical governance and review of type design data, installation drawings, materials/processes, airworthiness limitations, and structural substantiation.
  • •Coordinate multidisciplinary certification and test efforts and oversee external partners/structural consultants to ensure requirements flow-down, documentation quality, and milestone delivery.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (advanced degree preferred).
  • •10+ years of progressive FAA certification experience leading certification strategy and execution for complex STC or Type Certificate programs.
  • •Experience managing STC projects and certification deliverables, including compliance documentation and drawings of compliance.
  • •Mechanical engineering background with structural substantiation methods (statics, dynamics, damage tolerance, loads, materials, FEA, CFD).
  • •Extensive knowledge of FAA regulatory frameworks (Title 14 CFR Parts 21, 25, 26) and ODA processes, plus ability to coordinate stakeholders and communicate complex requirements.
