Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide trusted ER specialist advice to managers and People Partners on complex, sensitive, higher-risk ER matters, helping drive fair and consistent outcomes.
  • •Support ER cases across performance, conduct, grievances, absence, capability, and organisational change, adapting advice to local employment law and practices.
  • •Coach less experienced ER colleagues and help managers build confidence and judgement in handling people matters.
  • •Act as an escalation point for more complex or ambiguous ER cases, supporting colleagues with risk, options, and recommended next steps.
  • •Support employment disputes and litigation (including ACAS Early Conciliation and Employment Tribunal claims), partnering with Legal and external counsel as needed.

Key Requirements

  • •Experienced Employee Relations specialist with strong practical knowledge of employment law and ER best practice, including experience supporting ACAS Early Conciliation and/or Employment Tribunal claims.
  • •Confident independently managing complex, sensitive, higher-risk ER matters using sound judgement to balance legal/ER risk with fairness and practical business considerations.
  • •Experience working in a global or multi-jurisdictional ER environment, adapting approach across different local employment laws, regulations, cultures, and practices.
  • •Comfortable building trusted relationships with managers and senior stakeholders, combining empathy and diplomacy with appropriate challenge.
  • •Able to coach and develop others, and proactively handle ambiguous situations while spotting problems, risks, and opportunities.
