Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs for light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles and trailers in a mobile/field environment.
  • •Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck and trailer systems including electrical/brake/cooling, starters/alternators, engine electronics, steering, engines (gas/diesel), transmissions, clutches, differentials, and trailer brakes/air lines/liftgates.
  • •Inspect, test, and diagnose defective equipment using tools and instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges; road test vehicles as needed.
  • •Maintain parts inventory and equipment on the company-issued service truck, including safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections, and obtain parts from approved vendors.
  • •Complete DOT forms and repair orders accurately, upload documentation and photos using the company iOS device and proprietary TRAIT application, and communicate with management/support for approvals and PO numbers.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma/GED and 3 years of related experience (or an equivalent combination such as additional certification/degree or 5+ years experience).
  • •Possess and supply the hand tools necessary for the role.
  • •Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
  • •Pass DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical (or submit a DOT medical card with sufficient remaining validity).
  • •Be at least 21 and hold a valid state-of-residence driver’s license with a 3 YR MVR review and ability to maintain the Driver Qualification File.
