Job Summary

Support HSBC’s Enterprise Risk Management in strengthening ESG climate and nature risk oversight across HSBC Continental Europe (HBCE). Enhance and implement climate and nature risk frameworks, maintain regulatory oversight, and translate laws and supervisory expectations into practical actions such as gap analyses and remediation roadmaps. Lead CSRD double materiality assessment, coordinate governance and senior forums, and deliver high-quality management information and reporting with stakeholders across Risk, Sustainability, Compliance, Finance, and the business.

Key Responsibilities

•Maintain ongoing oversight of EU and global regulatory obligations for climate and nature risk and ensure consistent interpretation across HBCE.
•Analyze ESG-relevant laws, regulations, supervisory expectations, and industry guidance; support gap analysis, impact assessments, and remediation roadmaps.
•Support the HBCE Head of ESG and Reputational Risk to enhance risk approach, assessment guidance, risk appetite, metrics, and reporting aligned to European expectations and HSBC frameworks.
•Lead CSRD double materiality assessment for climate and nature across HBCE businesses and functions, including stakeholder engagement, documentation, and quality assurance.
•Represent HBCE in French and European industry working groups; act as an SME and contribute to internal/external reporting and disclosures.

•Proven ability to interpret regulatory and supervisory requirements and translate them into practical actions (e.g., gap analysis, impact assessment, implementation plans).
•Fluency in French and English, with strong stakeholder and communication skills for written materials and senior forums.
