Job Summary

Provide on-site supervision of the directional drilling (DD) process, including well-path projection to target coordinates. Support Bottom Hole Assembly (BHA) selection and ensure BHA assembly follows specifications for make-up torque, doping, and handling. Use DD computer software to perform survey calculations, update well profile plots, and provide accurate directional survey data to client representatives. Complete daily DD reports, BHA performance reports, service tickets, and well-site equipment inspection and records.

Key Responsibilities

•Supervise the on-site directional drilling (DD) process, including projecting well paths to predetermined target coordinates.
•Understand BHA selection and DD performance, ensuring BHA assembly is planned and completed correctly (make-up torque, doping, handling).
•Perform survey calculations and well-path projections using DD computer software.
•Update well profile plots and provide accurate directional survey data to the client representative.
•Complete daily DD reports, BHA performance reports for each BHA run, service tickets, and required paperwork, while inspecting and recording DD equipment at the well site.

Key Requirements

•Requires completion of a high school diploma or equivalent, plus a minimum of three years of field experience in Directional Drilling, L/MWD, or SDL, with at least six months in DD.
•Possess relevant rig safety certificates.
•Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline is preferred.
•Ability to read and interpret designed well plans, directional survey information, and other well-site data.
•Must have good communication, arithmetic, data entry, and recording skills.
