Job Function: Transportation & Fleet Operations

Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate the vehicle according to applicable state and federal transportation laws and safely transport loads along required routes while following all traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • •Maneuver truck and trailer into loading and unloading areas, follow loading crew signals, and assist with loading and unloading using specialized equipment.
  • •Maintain required delivery documentation such as invoices and bills of lading, and deliver paperwork to the appropriate staff after route completion.
  • •Perform routine service on trucks/trailers as needed (e.g., checking oil, water, gasoline, and air) and report maintenance malfunctions to the Shipping Supervisor.
  • •Arrange trailers in shipping yards for optimum loading patterns and complete other related duties as assigned.

Key Requirements

  • •Hold a commercial drivers license (Class A CDL) or the appropriate chauffeur’s license for the vehicle you operate.
  • •Pass background and drug testing as required by federal and/or state DOT regulations, and pass a DOT physical for vehicles over 10k lbs.
  • •Be at least 21 years old and maintain a clean driving record.
  • •Provide strong interpersonal and professional customer service with staff and customers at delivery points.
  • •Lift and move up to 40 pounds, and remain seated for prolonged periods in a trailer cab.
