Job Summary

Serve as the primary service and maintenance contact for Trane Technologies customers in the Waterloo/Cedar Falls area. Commission, troubleshoot, repair, and start up HVAC systems in commercial environments, using air conditioning theory, pipe fitting knowledge, mechanical layouts, hand tools, and blueprints. Coordinate with team leaders and customers, maintain safety and accountability of company assets, and be flexible for overtime, weekends, and occasional overnight stays.

•Coordinate with team leaders/project managers and customers to understand requirements for on-site installation and repairs, forecasting issues and synchronizing work.
•Serve as direct customer contact and ensure satisfaction by diagnosing, repairing, and starting up products/equipment at customer locations.
•Use HVAC technical knowledge, hand tools, blueprints, and engineering specifications to diagnose and repair HVAC units.
•Work flexibly as needed, including overtime and weekends, with occasional overnight stays.
•Enforce safety standards and maintain security/accountability of company-issued and procured assets by recording their use, wear, and condition.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or equivalent, typically 5+ years of HVAC experience (technical school/formal training preferred).
•Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office and working proficiency with a handheld computer (smartphone, iPad).
•Valid driver’s license for at least 12 months with no major or frequent violations, including specified offenses, within the past 3 years.
•EPA Certification.
•Ability to use blueprints or engineering specifications and troubleshoot/repair HVAC units in a commercial environment.
