Job Summary

Operate heavy construction equipment safely and efficiently, including loaders, back hoes, track hoes, haul trucks, and water trucks. Ensure excavation safety with proper slopes and barricading, locate utilities before digging, and perform minor servicing or escalate major issues. Maintain time/material records, understand aggregate and load requirements, and assist with laborer duties and physical site tasks such as laying pipe, utilities, and road/asphalt work.

Key Responsibilities

•Operate construction equipment safely and efficiently (e.g., loaders, back hoes, track hoes, haul trucks, water trucks).
•Maintain excavation safety, including proper slopes and barricading.
•Locate utilities and buried lines prior to digging.
•Perform minor servicing and maintenance, or refer major problems to the supervisor.
•Keep time and material records and support laborer duties, including physical tasks like laying pipe/utility lines and road/asphalt work as needed.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or GED is preferred.
•Previous heavy equipment operation experience or training is highly preferred.
•Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence.
•Ability to do basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide) using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
•Ability to work well with others in a group or one-on-one setting.
