Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead and manage a diverse range of urban planning projects and deliverables, including approval strategies, multi-criteria analysis, options assessment, and land-use impact assessments for EES and planning permit applications.
  • •Lead planning inputs on major projects such as Development Plans, Urban Design and Landscape Plans, Urban Design Strategies, planning due diligence, approval strategies, and planning scheme amendments.
  • •Manage projects from inception through delivery to ensure high-quality outcomes, strong client relationships, and delivery against agreed timeframes and budgets.
  • •Provide strategic urban planning advice across AECOM’s Urbanism + Planning portfolio, including masterplans, feasibility studies, business cases, and major development and infrastructure projects.
  • •Lead, mentor, and develop junior and mid-level staff while maintaining technical quality and project delivery standards.

Key Requirements

  • •A tertiary qualification to degree level in Urban/Environmental Planning (or similar).
  • •Ideally 10+ years of relevant experience in urban planning.
  • •A well-developed understanding of contemporary planning practices, including applying planning legislation and schemes for transit and/or precinct development.
  • •Demonstrated skills managing projects (or components of) and budgets to meet time and resource requirements.
  • •Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders at varying seniority levels.
