Job Summary

Lead civil engineering work for wastewater and water treatment projects across the UK and internationally, from feasibility and outline/detailed design through delivery. Collaborate with engineers, hydraulic modellers, environmental scientists, and technical specialists; liaise with clients on scope, proposals, and progress. Ensure designs comply with applicable standards and regulations, support interdisciplinary analytical studies, and mentor junior engineers to advance their technical development.

Key Responsibilities

•Collaborate with engineers, hydraulic modellers, environmental scientists, and technical specialists to deliver multi-disciplinary projects.
•Produce feasibility studies, outline designs, detailed designs, reports, and technical specifications.
•Ensure design compliance with applicable standards and regulations and provide technical expertise for interdisciplinary analytical studies.
•Liaise with clients to develop scope, price proposals, and communicate project progress.
•Provide mentorship for junior team members and contribute to their technical development.

Key Requirements

•Degree (or demonstratable equivalent experience) in Civil Engineering.
•Proven experience within the water sector at senior level.
•Chartered/Incorporated or working towards chartered status with a relevant institution (e.g. ICE, CIWEM).
•Experience undertaking engineering assessments, options appraisals, engineering calculations and/or economic appraisals.
•Experience of outline and/or detailed design, preferably of wastewater or water treatment schemes or flood risk management, assessment or drainage schemes.
