Key Responsibilities

  • •Serve as the key relationship manager for consortiums in East Africa, handling negotiations, renewals, and strategic partnerships.
  • •Cultivate relationships with university libraries, research institutions, and government bodies to expand footprint and retention.
  • •Achieve minimum 20% year-over-year revenue growth by identifying opportunities and upselling to existing clients.
  • •Develop and execute strategic account plans to increase eBooks and journal subscriptions across academic, corporate, and government sectors.
  • •Collaborate with marketing and product teams, track account performance and pipeline health, and provide regular forecasts to leadership.
Travel: High travel

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years of experience in B2B account management, institutional engagement, or publishing sales (eBooks, journals, or academic publishing preferred).
  • •Ability to travel across countries in East Africa and, if required, other African regions for key client meetings and industry events.
  • •Proven track record in driving revenue growth, managing high-value accounts, and closing complex deals.
  • •Strong experience in account management with consortiums.
  • •Knowledge of Open Access, Read & Publish models, and digital content licensing is a strong advantage.
