Key Responsibilities

  • •Install, terminate, test, troubleshoot, and document fiber, network, audio, video, and RF cabling, including horizontal/backbone cables.
  • •Install, test, and troubleshoot audio, video, and RF equipment.
  • •Install cable pathway systems (e.g., cable trays, racks, J-hooks, D-rings) and build out telecommunication and equipment rooms.
  • •Perform continuity checks and locate/correct wiring errors using measuring instruments.
  • •Investigate, diagnose, correct, and document instrumentation or system malfunctions, collaborating with team members and reading/interpreting schematics and planning documents.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • •2+ years installing, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing fiber optics and copper cabling (RF/Ethernet), network and telephony installation, and audio/video systems.
  • •Ability to install, terminate, and test low voltage cables and fiber optics (twisted pair, coaxial, solid/stranded; single-mode and multi-mode).
  • •Strong knowledge of industry standards such as BICSI, NEC, and TIA/EIA, plus fiber types and data cabling (Cat5E/Cat6/Cat6A) and cable pathways (conduit, cable trays, fire penetrations).
  • •Working knowledge of telecom network best practices (including network security concepts) and troubleshooting tools; ability to work with audio/video and wireless systems delivery methods (e.g., AoIP/VoIP).
