Key Responsibilities

  • •Carry out Medium Voltage and Low Voltage design work to DNO standards for distribution projects.
  • •Provide feeder supply network solutions (open/closed ring and radial) and create intake and distribution substation layout designs.
  • •Perform primary plant and equipment design and produce secondary protection and control solution digests including circuit and wiring diagrams.
  • •Conduct cable sizing calculations and produce routing, section, and termination drawings for Medium and Low Voltage systems.
  • •Design earthing grid and modelling, produce SCADA interface designs and standby/back-up power changeover solutions, and review submissions against client scope.

Key Requirements

  • •Degree or relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering.
  • •Knowledge of British and DNO specific design standards.
  • •Proven track record as a Trainee/Assistant Electrical Engineer, or completion of a Graduate Training programme post degree in a design office and/or construction environment in the Energy/Power sector.
  • •Understanding of functional characteristics of Power Systems.
  • •Ability to write clear and concise documentation and collaborate with internal and external parties.
