Job Summary

Develop CPU microarchitecture and performance modeling for AMD’s next-generation processors as part of the CPU Microarchitecture and Performance Modeling team in Bangalore. Build and enhance microarchitectural timing simulators using C++ and contribute to exploring and evaluating microarchitectural ideas. Characterize workloads, benchmark using performance counters and tools, model microarchitectural features, and develop performance tests across simulator, actual hardware, and RTL.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop and improve microarchitectural timing simulators and contribute to CPU microarchitecture development.
•Explore microarchitectural ideas and evaluate them for AMD’s future processors.
•Model micro-architectural features on simulators and assess their performance.
•Develop tests to measure performance on simulator, actual hardware, and RTL design.
•Perform benchmark characterization and bottleneck analysis across different hardware platforms.

Key Requirements

•6–10 years of relevant experience working on CPU microarchitecture development and processor performance modeling.
•Strong knowledge of computer architecture with experience developing microarchitectural timing simulators in C++.
•Experience with workloads characterization, program analysis, and benchmarking using actual hardware performance counters or tools.
•Knowledge of Python or another scripting language, and Verilog/VHDL.
•Experience programming x86 assembly language and evaluating microarchitectural ideas for future AMD processors.
