Job Summary

Provide in-house legal counsel for HVAC and related commercial activities across Germany and Austria, supporting contracts, commercial and corporate matters, and construction law. Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents in German and English; manage commercial/technical claims and pending cases; coordinate external counsel; and identify and mitigate legal risks. Partner with the EMEA & ANZ legal team on European initiatives and M&A projects, and deliver employee training on legal topics.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide legal support across German and international contract law, commercial law, corporate law, and construction law.
•Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents in German and English, including confidentiality agreements and contract terms.
•Advise teams at AL-KO factories and sales offices involved in commercialization in Germany and Austria.
•Analyze and manage commercial and/or technical claims and a portfolio of pending legal cases.
•Coordinate external lawyers and collaborate with the EMEA & ANZ legal team on European initiatives and M&A projects; identify legal risks and respond operationally.

Key Requirements

•Minimum 5-10 years of related legal experience, including 2-3 years in-house experience (preferred).
•Knowledge of German law.
•Ability to draft, review, and negotiate legal documents in German and English (e.g., supply and sales contracts, distribution agreements, OEM agreements).
•Skills in negotiation and written/verbal communication.
•Ability to work independently as an in-house lawyer and interact with international peers.
