Key Responsibilities

  • •Own Technical Direction and Architecture: set direction for AI systems, guardrails, evaluation frameworks, and agentic workflow infrastructure; lead architecture for backend and AI platform systems end-to-end.
  • •Build and Operate AI Systems: write production code as a hands-on contributor; design and operate LLM-powered systems including RAG pipelines and model observability; ensure end-to-end reliability.
  • •Champion AI-Native Development: promote AI-native practices and tools to boost productivity; guide AI-assisted development while maintaining reliability and quality.
  • •Lead and Grow the Team: mentor engineers, establish coding standards and documentation, and partner with recruiting to grow the team.
  • •Collaborate Cross-Functionally: work with engineering managers, product, design, and QA to translate requirements into executable technical plans; participate in design reviews and roadmap discussions.

Key Requirements

  • •7+ years of backend and/or ML engineering experience with increasing technical leadership, architectural responsibility, and mentorship.
  • •Portfolio of shipped production systems with hands-on code examples; not primarily a managerial contributor.
  • •Deep expertise in Python with strong backend capabilities; experience with Node/TS or Java is a plus.
  • •Production experience building and operating AI/LLM-powered systems (AI SDKs, RAG pipelines, evaluation frameworks, agentic workflows, or model observability).
  • •Experience leading technical design for complex systems and guiding implementation across multiple engineers or teams.
