Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate the vehicle according to applicable state and federal transportation laws and observe all safety regulations.
  • •Transport loads safely and in a timely manner over required routes, obeying all traffic laws.
  • •Maneuver trucks and trailers into loading and unloading areas, follow loading crew signals, and assist with loading/unloading using specialized equipment.
  • •Maintain invoices and shipping paperwork (shipping bills of lading) and deliver documentation to the shipping office or appropriate staff when routes are complete.
  • •Perform routine service checks (oil, water, gasoline, air) and report maintenance malfunctions; arrange trailers in shipping yards for optimum loading patterns.

Key Requirements

  • •Hold a commercial drivers license (Class A CDL) appropriate for the weight of the vehicle operated.
  • •Pass background and drug testing as required by federal and/or state DOT regulations; pass a DOT physical.
  • •Be at least 21 years old to operate a company vehicle.
  • •Remain focused in a busy environment and communicate professionally with customers and staff at delivery points.
  • •Be able to lift and move up to 40 pounds and sustain prolonged periods sitting in a trailer cab.
