Design, develop, and debug complex Mainframe products using Assembler and z/OS. Own end-to-end development including functional specifications, effort estimation, unit testing, and support for system/integration testing. Perform deep problem analysis, maintain documentation, and participate in code and artifact reviews with cross-functional teams and QA. Mentor earlier-career staff and support customer escalations when needed.

Key Responsibilities

•Define functional specifications for program modules and estimate development effort aligned with product delivery schedules.
•Develop, test, and maintain product code per BMC quality standards, including unit testing and support for system/integration testing.
•Perform thorough problem analysis and resolve product-related issues according to BMC support standards.
•Maintain knowledge of product environments and technologies, and provide complete documentation including commented code and design documents.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams through code/artifact reviews, partner with QA, and support customer-specific escalations.

Salary: USD 102,150 - 170,250 annually

Key Requirements

•8+ years developing mainframe products using Assembler language.
•Hands-on z/OS experience building, customizing, or maintaining applications, tools, or system-level components.
•Db2 z/OS expertise, specifically Db2 SQL Performance (APPTUNE) or equivalent products.
•Ability to define functional specifications and accurately estimate development effort for maintainable, high-quality solutions.
•Experience delivering and supporting system and integration testing, including unit testing.
