Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide the full range of personal financial counseling services to service members and families at assigned military installations.
  • •Conduct one-on-one counseling, consultations, briefings/presentations, and provide referral resources outside formal counseling sessions.
  • •Assist with establishing spending plans for extended absences and develop informational financial materials for service members and families.
  • •Coordinate, publicize, and deliver Personal Financial Management classes/workshops across the military lifecycle, responding to age-appropriate requests.
  • •Manage duty-to-warn situations per DoD protocol and participate in supervision and training activities, sharing trends and issues with leadership.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree required; may consider associate degree plus 4 years' experience or high school diploma plus 6 years' experience in lieu of bachelor's.
  • •3+ years of financial counseling experience.
  • •Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English; if required by contract, must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • •Be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation and pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
  • •Must hold one of: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
