Job Summary

Lead the design of Kin’s global design system as a Principal-level IC, owning the token architecture across color, typography, spacing, and motion. You’ll establish Figma-to-code parity, define governance, and ensure accessibility across surfaces while collaborating with Product and Engineering to ship cohesive, on-brand experiences at scale in a remote-first environment.

Key Responsibilities

•Audit existing component libraries and live product experiences using AI tools to map gaps, drift, and inconsistencies and generate a data-backed plan to unify the system
•Own Kin's token architecture across color, typography, spacing, and motion as the single source of truth for design and code
•Design token systems that scale across internal tools, customer-facing apps, and multi-brand surfaces with an architecture that flexes without fragmenting
•Establish and maintain Figma-to-code parity, partnering with engineering on the pipeline from design tokens to components
•Introduce new components and patterns as Kin expands into new product domains, ensuring the system grows with intention rather than sprawl

Salary: USD 190,000 - 210,000 annually

Key Requirements

•7+ years of visual and product design experience with a focus on design systems
•Deep fluency in token architecture (primitive/semantic/component) and mastery of Figma as a systems tool
•Experience designing token systems that scale across multiple contexts (internal tools, customer-facing apps, multi-brand surfaces)
•Proven ability to leverage AI tools to accelerate tasks, automate documentation, and speed up design-to-code feedback loops
•Ability to influence without authority and operate effectively in ambiguous, 0-to-1 spaces
