Key Responsibilities

•Measure and record distances, directions, and angles between points using tape or electronic equipment to support accurate survey results.
•Operate electronic survey data collectors in the field, selecting known reference points to determine precise locations of important features.
•Record and deliver quality field notes that enable drafters and surveyors to produce accurate maps or drawings.
•Troubleshoot modern conventional surveying equipment and GPS issues during data collection.
•Use surveying and pipeline tools and equipment (including radio detection pipe locators) to support locating and survey work.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or equivalent.
•One year hands-on experience with GPS and conventional total station data collection.
•Experience with pipeline surveying techniques; two years in pipeline surveying is desired (control, topographic surveys, and boundary surveying a plus).
•Knowledge of safe work practices and the ability to demonstrate safe operating methods for assigned surveying tools and equipment.
•Proficiency with modern surveying equipment (GPS control networks, coordinate systems, Total Stations, Data Collectors and software) and familiarity with equipment setup and operation.
