Key Responsibilities

  • •Carry out pavement investigations, condition assessments, surveys, pavement design, engineering calculations, technical reporting, working drawings, and cost estimates
  • •Undertake pavement engineering tasks as part of project design development for roads, highways, municipal roads, and related transport infrastructure projects
  • •Apply pavement and materials engineering knowledge to pavement rehabilitation, surfacing selection, pavement layer design, and construction methodology reviews
  • •Review technical submissions, design reports, drawings, specifications, materials information, and contractor documentation for compliance with project requirements
  • •Perform construction supervision and delegated construction contract administration duties on civil and pavement works where required

Key Requirements

  • •BEng or BSc degree in Civil Engineering
  • •Professional registration with ECSA as a Pr Eng
  • •5+ years’ experience in civil engineering with strong exposure to pavements, roads, highways, materials engineering, or pavement rehabilitation projects
  • •Experience working on large roads infrastructure projects, preferably including SANRAL, provincial, municipal, or transport infrastructure projects
  • •Experience in pavement design, pavement analysis, materials investigations, construction monitoring, and technical reporting
