Job Summary

Senior Flood Modeller leads hydraulic and water quality modelling projects for UK and international clients, mentoring junior staff and developing modelling approaches. You will deliver Flood Alleviation Schemes, Flood Risk Assessments, and reservoir studies using Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, HEC-RAS and ICM, and lead tenders while collaborating with clients and multi-disciplinary teams to improve flood risk solutions.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop hydraulic models to assist the design of Flood Alleviation Schemes, deliver Flood Risk Assessments and conduct reservoir flood studies
•Develop water quality models using industry standard software such as MIKE, Delft3D, SIMCAT and/or ICM
•Conceptualise and scope modelling approaches with consideration of risks and opportunities in each
•Undertake and check hydrological assessments including Flood Estimation Handbook, ReFH2 and WINFAP
•Lead and input into tenders ranging from innovative one-off projects to multimillion pound framework contracts

Key Requirements

•Evidence of significant experience in hydraulic and water quality modelling software (such as Mike, ICM, SIMCAT, Flood Modeller and/ or TUFLOW)
•Demonstrable knowledge of Environment Agency requirements in preparing flood models for flood risk assessments.
•Basic understanding of physico-chemical water quality and the associated regulatory standards for fresh waters.
•Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
•Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or other relevant discipline
