Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop hydraulic models to assist the design of Flood Alleviation Schemes, deliver Flood Risk Assessments and conduct reservoir flood studies
  • •Develop water quality models using industry standard software such as MIKE, Delft3D, SIMCAT and/or ICM
  • •Conceptualise and scope modelling approaches with consideration of risks and opportunities in each
  • •Undertake and check hydrological assessments including Flood Estimation Handbook, ReFH2 and WINFAP
  • •Lead and input into tenders ranging from innovative one-off projects to multimillion pound framework contracts

Key Requirements

  • •Evidence of significant experience in hydraulic and water quality modelling software (such as Mike, ICM, SIMCAT, Flood Modeller and/ or TUFLOW)
  • •Demonstrable knowledge of Environment Agency requirements in preparing flood models for flood risk assessments.
  • •Basic understanding of physico-chemical water quality and the associated regulatory standards for fresh waters.
  • •Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • •Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or other relevant discipline
