Key Responsibilities

  • •Support and lead components of transportation design assignments for roadway corridors, intersections, roundabouts, active transportation, transit priority elements, and site access improvements.
  • •Prepare and review functional, preliminary, and detailed design drawings, briefs, technical memoranda, quantities, cost estimates, and supporting documentation.
  • •Apply transportation design standards and engineering judgement to develop practical, safe, and constructible design solutions.
  • •Complete and coordinate roadway design elements including alignments, grading, intersection layouts, roundabout geometry, pavement markings, signage, traffic control devices, and active transportation facilities.
  • •Coordinate with internal disciplines, clients, municipalities, road authorities, and project managers to support delivery and provide technical direction to junior staff and designers.

Key Requirements

  • •Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline focused on transportation engineering, roadway design, or municipal infrastructure.
  • •Licensed as a Professional Engineer (or eligible for P.Eng. designation with Engineers Nova Scotia).
  • •5+ years of progressive experience in transportation engineering, supporting or leading transportation design assignments.
  • •Strong working knowledge of roadway, signalized intersection, and roundabout design, including active transportation, transit, and site access/parking/loading/circulation principles.
  • •Experience using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and AutoTURN to prepare and coordinate transportation design deliverables.
